Got Prince of Persia on the brain? Can’t say I blame you, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a great choice in a sublime third person action platformer, and the Prince of Persia movie hits the big screen this week. Sony is playing along and giving gamers a bit of a break on a taste of classic gaming that drove many of us mad at the keyboards of our PCs as kids: Prince of Persia Classic is on sale.
PoP Classic has been completely remastered in HD, retaining the excellent gameplay of the original and enhancing it with some new movies. The Prince is the charming Prince of Sands of Time (though the canon is not consistent) rather than the rather irritating Prince of the 2008 next-gen PoP. You have 1 hour to save the princess, with generous checkpoints along the way, and plenty of platforming, sword fighting, and puzzles.
This remake of the original title is a great way to play the game. If you remember the pixelated Prince of years gone by, you’ll love this version.
Prince of Persia Classic is available on the PSN in the US and Canada, and is on sale for $4.99 (down from $9.99) until May 31, 2010.
